FerryPass ("we," "our," or "us") operates the FerryPass mobile application. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information.
Information We Collect
Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your email address and optional display name.
Transaction Data: We record points earned and redeemed, including the merchant name, date, and transaction amount. This data is used to calculate your points balance and display your transaction history.
Profile Information: You may optionally provide your birthday month (for bonus points), profile photo, zip code, and notification preferences.
Device Information: We collect your device's push notification token to send you notifications about points earned, merchant alerts, and account activity. You can disable notifications at any time in the app settings.
Location Data: We do not collect or track your location. The Discover map shows merchant locations based on their registered addresses, not your position.
How We Use Your Information
- To operate your FerryPass account and track points
- To display your transaction history and achievement badges
- To send push notifications you have opted into
- To verify transactions with partner merchants
- To prevent fraud and abuse of the points system
- To improve the app experience
Information We Do Not Collect
- We do not collect GPS or location data
- We do not collect payment card information (merchants handle payments separately)
- We do not track browsing history
- We do not use cookies or third-party ad trackers
Information Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties.
We share limited information with partner merchants only when you scan their QR code (your display name and points earned at their location). Merchants cannot see your full transaction history, points balance, or activity at other merchants.
We may share information if required by law or to protect our rights.
Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored securely using Supabase (hosted on AWS). We use row-level security policies to ensure users can only access their own data. All data is transmitted over HTTPS.
Profile photos are stored in a secure cloud storage bucket with a 2MB file size limit.
Data Retention
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days. Anonymized transaction records may be retained for fraud prevention.
Your Rights
- View and edit your profile information at any time in the app
- Export your transaction history by contacting us
- Delete your account by contacting us at support@getferrypass.com
- Opt out of push notifications in the app settings
Children's Privacy
FerryPass is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the app or by email.
